Who Took Home Awards at the 2024 BRIT Awards?
From Harry Styles in 2023 to RAYE in 2024, who made history by winning an astounding 6 awards out of her 7 nominations! RAYE walked away with some of the most coveted awards, including Album, Artist, and Songwriter of the Year, outshining UK legends like Harry Styles, Adele, and Blur, who had previously won 4 awards each. The ceremony also featured notable wins such as Dua Lipa receiving the Pop Act Award, Chase & Status being named Producer of the Year, and Kylie Minogue honoured as the Global Icon.
The event showcased 17 awards in total, highlighted by eight dazzling performances from artists like Dua Lipa, RAYE, Rema, and Kylie Minogue. This year promises even more excitement as Damian Christian, Chair of the BRIT Committee, prepares to make his final show memorable. He expressed, "Securing our Saturday night slot was our top priority, and now that it's confirmed, we are dedicated to making next year's event one for the history books!"
UK Artists Making Waves in 2024
The UK music landscape has been thriving with talent over the past year. Charli XCX dominated both the charts and social media with her BRAT album, marking the first number 1 album of 2024 by a UK artist. Coldplay released their tenth studio album, Moon Music, ahead of their 2025 tour. Sophie Ellis-Bextor made a triumphant return to the UK top ten for the first time since 2007 with her hit “Murder on the Dance Floor,” thanks to its resurgence in the film Saltburn. Eminem scored his 11th number one single with “Houdini,” while Chase & Status collaborated with Stormzy on the track “Backbone.”
